Archaeohippus mourningi

Taxonomy
Parahippus mourningi was named by Merriam (1913). Its type specimen is UCMP 19840, a maxilla ( a portion of a maxillary with milk dentition and M1), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Macdonald (1992); it was recombined as Archaeohippus mourningi by Osborn (1918), Matthew (1932), Bode (1934), Bode (1935), Schlaikjer (1937), Stirton (1940), MacFadden (1998), Boessenecker (2011).
