Taxonomy
Pterocoryphe progrediens was named by Feist and Clarkson (1989). Its type specimen is USTM 19, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Serre A bed 43, which is in a Frasnian carbonate limestone in the Serre Formation of France.
