Taxonomy
Phacops (Trimerocephalus) steinachensis was named by Richter and Richter (1926). It is the type species of Pulvinocephalus, Pulvinocephalus (Pulvinocephalus).

It was recombined as Trimerocephalus steinachensis by Crônier (2003); it was recombined as Pulvinocephalus (Pulvinocephalus) steinachensis by Feist (2019).
