Taxonomy
Dromomeryx trigonocorneus was named by Barbour and Schultz (1934). Its type locality is Antelope Creek, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in Nebraska.

It was recombined as Barbouromeryx (Barbouromeryx) trigonocorneus by Frick (1937); it was recombined as Barbouromeryx trigonocorneus by Webb (1983), Janis and Manning (1998), Prothero and Liter (2007), Prothero and Liter (2008).

D. R. Prothero and M. R. Liter 2008Short upright supraorbital horns with bulbous tips. Occipital horn consisting of a short, median bulbous projection. Lacrimal fossa present. Short diastema. Moderate-sized saberlike upper canines in males. Large premolars with little molarization; anterior fossette on p4 open. brachyodont molars. Palaeomeryx fold present on lower molars. Limbs moderately elongated (modified from Janis and Manning, 1998, p. 484).
