Taxonomy
Kayentapus ubacensis was named by Gand et al. (2018). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is track A1, trackway A and is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Capelan tracksite, which is in a Bathonian sand shoal packstone in the Calcaires à Stipites Formation of France.

G. Gand et al. 2018grandes traces de pieds tridactyles dont la longueur est au moins égale à 24 cm. Elles sont, un peu plus longues (L) que larges (W) avec, pour l’échantillon PAGFX de référence: n = 48; m L = 30,56 cm ; vm–vM = 25–36 cm; L/W: n = 46; m = 1,06; b1–b2 = 1,03–1,1; e-t = 0, 1102; k% = 10. Les orteils II, III, IV montrent des coussinets peu marqués et indistincts dans la partie proximale de la trace où ils sont rassemblés en un talon. On note l’existence d’une symétrie presque bilatérale passant par l’axe du doigt III. L’angle II-IV = T est grand avec les caractéris- tiques suivantes pour PAGFX: n = 36; m = 73, b1–b2 = 69–76°; vm–vM = 52–87°, e-t = 10, 43; k% = 14; L’orteil III se projette plus distalement que ses voisins mais faiblement avec L-D/D: n = 45; m = 1,72; b1–b2 = 1,60–1,84; e-t = 0, 4006; k% = 23.
L’angle du pas des pistes est compris entre 140 et 179°.
