Taxonomy
Isotelus spurius was named by Phleger (1933). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barrel Spring Canyon, which is in a Caradoc shallow subtidal shale in the Barrel Spring Formation of California.
It was recombined as Anataphrus spurius by Amati (2014).
