Etymology: From chelys, turtle in Latin. Species: in honor to our friend and colleague Jean-Claude Rage.

The final repository of the fossil material reported here is the Centre for Pure and Applied Geology (CPAG), University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. High-resolution casts are housed at the Musum national dHistoire naturelle, Paris.

Taxonomy
Sindhochelys ragei was named by de Lapparent de Broin et al. (2021). Its type specimen is CPAG-RANKT-V-3, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Laki Range - K18-12, which is in a Danian coastal sandstone in the Khadro Formation of Pakistan. It is the type species of Sindhochelys.
