Taxonomy
Ainiktozoon loganense was named by Scourfield (1937). Its type specimen is 32, a carapace, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Jamoytius horizon. Logan Water, Lesmahagow, which is in a Telychian marine siliciclastic in the Patrick Burn Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Ainiktozoon.
