Taxonomy
Oligocolius psittacocephalon was named by Mayr (2013). Its type specimen is PW 2012/5052-LS, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Enspel, which is in a MP 28 crater lake shale/tuff in the Enspel Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Oligocolius.
