Coryphodon proterus
Taxonomy
Coryphodon proterus was named by Simons (1960) [not present in North America, referred specimens are C. eocaenus: Uhen and Gingerich 1995]. Its type specimen is PU 13400, a mandible (left mandible with c, p2-m3, L & R i1-3, R p1-4, m1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southwest of Bear Creek, which is in a Clarkforkian terrestrial horizon in Montana.
