Taxonomy
Aratasaurus museunacionali was named by Sayão et al. (2020). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MPSC R 2089. Its type locality is Mina Pedra Branca (black shale layer), which is in an Albian terrestrial shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.
