Xenostius futilus

Taxonomy
Xenostius futilus was named by Alifanov (2019). Its type specimen is PIN 3334/522, a mandible (left dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khovboor (PIN coll. 3101) [SMPE], which is in an Aptian/Albian lacustrine sandstone/claystone in the Dzunbain Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Xenostius.
