Taxonomy
Cuyamalagus dawsoni was named by Hutchison and Lindsay (1974) [genotype]. Its type locality is Vedder (UCMP V-6761), which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Branch Canyon Formation of California. It is the type species of Cuyamalagus.
