Taxonomy
Apiculatisporites levis was named by Balme and Hennely (1956). It is not extant. Its type locality is Borehole JK5, Jharia Coalfield, which is in a Permian fluvial horizon in India.
It was recombined as Brevitriletes levis by Bharadwaj and Srivastava (1969), Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
