Taxonomy
Saltatherium rosaurae was named by Fernicola et al. (2021). Its type specimen is IBIGEO-P 68, an osteoderm, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Los Cardones National Park, which is in a Ypresian fluvial sandstone/siltstone in the Lumbrera Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Saltatherium.
