Taxonomy
Pentagnostus krusei was named by Laurie (2006). Its type specimen is NTM P3561 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pacific Oil & Gas Baldwin No. 1. 882.06-882.22 m, which is in an Ordian marine limestone in the Arthur Creek Formation of Australia.
