Taxonomy
Miochinchilla plurinacionalis was named by Croft et al. (2021). Its type specimen is UATF-V-001911, a mandible (R dentary preserving the base of the incisor and p4-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rio Rosario, which is in a Laventan fluvial claystone in Bolivia.

Croft et al. 2021Differs from the only other member of the genus, M. surirense, in having cheek tooth laminae that are more oblique relative to the long axis of the toothrow, having molars that are narrower mesiodistally and wider in laminar diameter, and lacking the intralaminar transverse crests pre- sent in M. surirense.
