Palaeocomaster seranensis was named by Sieverts (1933). It is extant. It is the type species of Sievertsia, Sievertsella.
It was recombined as Sievertsia seranensis by Radwanska (1987); it was recombined as Sievertsella seranensis by Hess and Messing (2011).
