Polypodiidites impariter was named by Potonié and Sah (1960). It is not extant. Its type locality is Kannur, which is in a Miocene fluvial-lacustrine lignite in the Cannanore Formation of India.
It was recombined as Polypodiisporites impariter by Dutta and Sah (1970) and Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
