Taxonomy
Ptilophyllum sakrigaliensis was named by Sah (1958). It is not extant. Its type locality is Sakrigali Ghat, which is in a Jurassic fluvial horizon in the Rajmahal Formation of India.

It was considered a nomen nudum by Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
