Taxonomy
Gammarolithes virgulinus was named by Étallon (1859). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arc-les-Gray, which is in a Kimmeridgian carbonate limestone in France. It is the type species of Orhomalus.
It was recombined as Orhomalus virgulinus by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
