Blastomeryx borealis was named by Cope (1877) [type is from "the Upper Miocene of Montana" and was found by Cope's "assistant, J. C. Isaac"]. It is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Palaeomeryx borealis by Douglass (1899), Douglass (1903), Matthew (1904), Matthew (1909); it was recombined as Dromomeryx borealis by Douglass (1909), Frick (1937), Janis and Manning (1998), Prothero and Liter (2007), Prothero and Liter (2008).
