Taxonomy
Ectocentrocristus foxi was named by Rigby and Wolberg (1987) [genotype]. Its type locality is Clambank Hollow Quarry, which is in a Campanian/Campanian fine channel fill claystone in the Judith River Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Ectocentrocristus.
