Taxonomy
Nephrops shastensis was named by Rathbun (1929). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 2 miles north of Bella Vista, which is in a Turonian marine shale in California.
It was recombined as Hoploparia shastensis by Schweitzer et al. (2010), Tshudy (2013).
