Ectoconodon montanensis
Taxonomy
Ectoconodon montanensis was named by Simpson (1927). Its type specimen is AMNH 14406, a tooth (isolated left upper molar), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Crooked Creek, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Hell Creek Formation of Montana.
It was synonymized subjectively with Ectoconodon petersoni by Simpson (1929); it was considered a nomen dubium by Clemens (1966).
