Ectoconus ditrigonus
Taxonomy
Periptychus ditrigonus was named by Cope (1882). Its type specimen is AMNH 3798, a mandible (fragment of right dentary with m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Ectoconus.
It was recombined as Conoryctes ditrigonus by Cope (1883) and Cope (1885); it was recombined as Ectoconus ditrigonus by Cope (1884), Cope (1888), Osborn and Earle (1895), Hay (1902), Matthew (1937), Schoch (1986), Eberle and Lillegraven (1998), Eberle (2003).
