Taxonomy
Meyeria rapax was named by Harbort (1905). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Mecochirus rapax by Kemper (1976); it was recombined as Meyerella rapax by Aguirre-Urreta (1989); it was recombined as Atherfieldastacus rapax by Robin et al. (2016), Oliva Simó et al. (2019).
