Eomaldivia lessinea was named by De Angeli and Ceccon (2017). Its type specimen is MCV.17/08-I.G.356312, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Monte Magrè, which is in a Ypresian carbonate packstone in Italy.
