Taxonomy
Stenocheles esocinus was named by Fritsch and Kafka (1887). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Oncopareia esocinus by Schweitzer et al. (2010), Feldmann et al. (2016); it was recombined as Oncopareia esocina by Tshudy et al. (2022).
