Taxonomy
Harpactocarcinus spinosus was named by Beschin et al. (2015). Its type specimen is MCZ.4529-I.G.367133, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Forte Masua, which is in a Lutetian carbonate limestone in Italy.
