Taxonomy
Gerastos emmetus was named by Gibb and Chatterton (2010) [= 1970 Gerastos sp. B aff. granulosus (Goldfuss, 1843), Alberti, p. 36, pl. 3, figs. 1-2.]. Its type specimen is US13560 (complete exoskeleton) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Upper Radiaspis horizon, Issoumour (East), which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone in the Bou-Dib Formation of Morocco.
