Taxonomy
Rhaptagnostus auctor was named by Shergold (1980). Its type specimen is CPC 15070, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lily Creek Section B791a, which is in an Iverian open shallow subtidal packstone/wackestone in the Chatsworth Formation of Australia.
