Taxonomy
Isotelus rex was named by Rudkin et al. (2003). Its type specimen is MMMN I-2950 (dorsal shield) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hudson Bay Coast Near Churchill, which is in a Cincinnatian/Richmondian shallow subtidal dolomite/evaporite in Canada.
