Taxonomy
Ancillariinae was named by Swainson (1840). It is extant. It was considered monophyletic by Kantor et al. (2017).

It was reranked as the family Ancillariidae by Kantor et al. (2017).

It was assigned to Olividae by Bouchet et al. (2005), Landau and Marques da Silva (2010) and Pacaud et al. (2013); and to Olivoidea by Kantor et al. (2017).
