Geolabis
Taxonomy
Geolabis was named by Cope (1884) [thought to be a synonym of Metacodon or Ankylodon by Clark 1966]. Its type is Geolabis rhynchaeus.
It was synonymized subjectively with Centetodon by Lillegraven et al. (1981), Asher et al. (2005), Lopatin (2006).
It was assigned to Leptictidae by Hay (1902); to Talpidae by Hay (1930); to Erinaceidae by Johnson (1966); and to Geolabidinae by Van Valen (1967).
It was synonymized subjectively with Centetodon by Lillegraven et al. (1981), Asher et al. (2005), Lopatin (2006).
It was assigned to Leptictidae by Hay (1902); to Talpidae by Hay (1930); to Erinaceidae by Johnson (1966); and to Geolabidinae by Van Valen (1967).
