Ceratocephala nodulata was named by Van Ingen (1901). Its type specimen is PU 57691a and is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Miraspis nodulata by Ramsköld (1991); it was recombined as Selenopeltoides nodulatus by Holloway (2021).
