Haplomys galbreathi

Taxonomy
Haplomys galbreathi was named by Tedrow and Korth (1997). Its type specimen is SDSM 8302, a mandible (right dentary with il and p4-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Slim Buttes Brule D, which is in an Orellan terrestrial horizon in South Dakota.

Korth 1997Smaller than Haplomys liolophus with cheek teeth slightly less lophate; anterior extension of the hypoconid on lower molars weakly developed, never meeting buccal end of mesoconid as it does in H. liolophus', differs from H. arboraptus in having transversely elongated mesostylids on lower cheek teeth.
