Taxonomy
Pudoproetus mediterraneus was named by Feist and Petersen (1995) [= "Perliproetus" sp. Flajs & Feist, 1988, p. 76, PI. 11, figs. 13, 14.]. Its type specimen is USTM 44, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Serre D/C boundary section Beds 89-101, which is in a Hastarian marine limestone/shale in the Griotte Formation of France.
