Taxonomy
Cornuproetus (Eopiriproetus) microphthalmus was named by Alberti (1969). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bou Regreg Limestone, Blue-Gray Finely Crystalline Layer, which is in a Pragian marine limestone/limestone in the Bou Regreg Limestone Formation of Morocco.
It was recombined as Eopiriproetus microphthalmus by Bault et al. (2021).
