Taxonomy
Hedstroemia sourdoughi was named by Ludvigsen and Tripp (1990). Its type specimen is ROM 45332, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hedstroemia Assemblage at Prongs Creek, Yukon Territory, which is in a Ludlow deep subtidal shelf carbonate in the Road River Formation of Canada.
