Carbonocoryphe planucauda was named by Brezinski (1998) [= Griffithidella depressus var. depressus HESSLER, 1965, pl. 38, figs. 2, 3, 5, 9 (not figs. 1, 4).]. Its type specimen is CM 35785, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Phillibole planucauda by Brezinski (2000).
