Cyphaspis bluhmi was named by Van Viersen and Holland (2016). Its type specimen is IRSNB a13003, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zireg, which is in an Eifelian marine mudstone in the ?Taboumakhloûf Formation of Morocco.
