Taxonomy
Beltella latifrons was named by Wilson (1954). Its type specimen is CW-281, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 4 mile SW Marathon section, collection 3 and 4, which is in a Tremadoc basinal (carbonate) limestone in the Marathon Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Angelina latifrons by Henningsmoen (1957).
