Taxonomy
Diphyllopteris verticillata was named by Srivastava (1978). It is not extant. Its type locality is Churia Clay Pit, which is in an Artinskian/Kungurian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Barakar Formation of India. It is the type species of Diphyllopteris.
