Spinoburmesebuthus knodelorum was named by Lourenço (2021). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (Knodel collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
It was recombined as Betaburmesebuthus knodelorum by Xuan et al. (2023).
