Taxonomy
Cornuproetus kyphora was named by Holloway (1980). Its type specimen is USNM 255819, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Trilobites of the St Clair Limestone, Arkansas, which is in a Wenlock deep subtidal ramp grainstone/lime mudstone in the St. Clair Limestone Formation of Arkansas.
