Taxonomy
Dechenella altenae was named by Basse (1996). Its type specimen is 967-92-18 +a, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altena IV. Steinbruch & Straßenanschnitt., which is in a Givetian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone/marl in the Dresel Formation of Germany.
