Jaylopygiella debruni was named by van Viersen (2013) [= 1921 Asteropyge punctatus Steininger (sic); Asselberghs, p. B133-134.
= 1923 Asteropyge punctatus Steininger (sic); Asselberghs, p. 55-56, 58-59.
= 1959 Asteropyge; Monseur, p. B92, figs 1-6. ? e.p. 1962 Asteropyge punctatum (sic); Lecompte, p. 150 [only ‘Dinant N’].
= v 2003 Jaylopygiella sp.; Basse, pl. 20, figs 341-342.]. Its type specimen is SMF 79526b, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.
