Diagnosis
Reference | Diagnosis | |
---|---|---|
V. V. Silantiev and J. G. Carter 2015 | Thin walled shells (less than 1.5 mm thick) with reduced pseudotaxodont hinge apparatus; hinge area narrow, consisting of either two branches (anterior and posterior) or only one reduced posterior branch. Anterior branch with 1–5 tubercu late teeth. Posterior branch with 1–5 dental plates or tubercles. Distal part of posterior branch occasionally with relatively small subhorizontal plates resembling lateral teeth of heterodont hinges. Number of teeth in branches of hinge area occasionally decreasing down to complete disappearance. |
