Taxonomy
Lecanites impressus was named by Waagen (1895). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hills east of Kutna, Lower Ceratite Limestone, Salt Range, which is in a Dienerian carbonate limestone in the Lower Ceratite Limestone Formation of Pakistan.

It was recombined as Gyrolecanites impressus by Spath (1934); it was recombined as Ambites impressa by Ware et al. (2018).
